In order to get her back, he stages an elaborate prison break. His girlfriend, Kate, visits him in prison to break up with him. In the first episode, Neal is finishing a four-year prison sentence. Neal Caffrey ( Matt Bomer) is a former conman who, after being caught escaping from prison, begins to work for the FBI's white collar crime unit under the supervision of Special Agent Peter Burke.
